Buckfastzucht Friedrichskoog – Interim report

Dear fellow beekeepers,
Despite the extreme cold at the beginning of the season and the extreme heat in the last week, everything has now settled down and we are very satisfied with the mating results at the mating station and the quality of the queens.
The shipment runs smoothly and only a few queens do not reach their destination unscathed, which we are extremely sorry about after all the care they have received from us, but unfortunately cannot be prevented.

After sending all shipments with dhl Paket for the last few weeks, we are now able to use “Warenpost International, tracked” again, which should speed up the process a bit.

If you have ordered from us, we kindly ask you to pay attention to the expected temperatures in the week of delivery. Please let us know if it is too hot. Then we will send the bees a week later. We cannot monitor all destinations continuously.

Overall, we have plenty of queens at the moment that we are happy to put into new hands. If you are still in need, simply order them in the shop and they will be on their way as soon as possible.

If you would like to re-list in the autumn, we recommend that you order now. We will then reserve the queens for you and send them to you in September.

Unfortunately we no longer ship to Great Britain. The bureaucratic effort is far too high. To Southern Europe, if possible, only at the end of the season in September. We ask for your understanding.

With beekeeper’s greetings from the far north of Germany.
Jens Steinfel
